Last updated October 2026

suhdude is built to collect as little as possible. This page describes exactly what the app does and doesn't do with your information.

What we collect

What we don't collect

We never ask for your real name, phone number, or contacts (a nickname you pick is just a label), and we never see or store your password — there isn't one. We don't sell your information to anyone.

Ads

Saving a sound is unlocked by watching a short rewarded ad, served through Google AdMob. iOS will ask for permission (App Tracking Transparency) before any ad can use your device's advertising identifier for more relevant ads; you can decline this and ads will still play. We don't otherwise run ads that track you across other apps or websites.

Community rules and moderation

You can report any sound and block any person from the menu next to it. Blocking hides that person's sounds for you everywhere in the app. We review reports and remove content and accounts that break our community rules. When a sound is reported by more than one person it is hidden for everyone.

Children's privacy

suhdude is intended for users age 13 and up. The app asks for your birthdate before you can use it and blocks access if you enter an age under 13; that check happens on your device and your birthdate is never sent to us or stored anywhere. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that someone under 13 has used the app, we will take reasonable steps to remove any associated content and data. If you believe a child has used suhdude, contact us at the address below.

How long we keep things

Recordings and links stay available until you or we remove them, or until the account of a request below. Reported content that's actioned is removed from being playable going forward.

Deleting your account

If you've connected with Apple, you can permanently delete your account at any time: open the app, tap the settings gear (top right), and tap "delete account." This immediately and permanently removes your account record, email, and username. It does not delete recordings or links already saved to your device or shared with others — those are tied to your device, not your account, the same as for anyone who never connects.

Deleting your friends and squads data

Leaving a squad removes you from it. Removing a friend deletes your suhs with them. To delete your nickname, suhcode and everything you've sent into chains, email us from the address below and include your suhcode (found in the squad tab); we'll delete it.

Your choices

If you haven't connected, we can't look up "your" data by name — but if you can identify a specific link or sound (for example, one you sent or one sent to you), email us and we'll remove it and any associated records.
